- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 large onions peeled thinly sliced
- 1 2 cup plain flour
- 1kg beef skirt steak cut into 4 pieces
- 500ml beef consomme
- 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
- steamed carrots to serve
The Instruction of braised skirt steak
- preheat oven to 180u00b0c heat 1 tablespoon oil in a non stick frying pan over medium heat add onions and cook stirring for 4 to 5 minutes remove to a casserole dish
- combine flour and salt and pepper in a shallow dish reserve 1 tablespoon lightly coat steak in seasoned flour
- heat remaining oil in frying pan over medium high heat cook steak 2 pieces at a time for 2 minutes each side or until browned remove cooked steak and add to onions in casserole dish
- reduce heat to medium add reserved flour to pan cook stirring for 1 minute slowly add consomme stirring until smooth add worcestershire sauce and salt and pepper pour sauce over steak and onions cover with a lid and bake for 2 hours serve with steamed carrots
